American Pitbull Terriers are lovers NOT fighters |
First off you hear the words Pit-bull and everyone goes nuts because people fear what they don't understand. But if your like me you know the love and devotion of this breed is like no other. They would lay down their lives to protect yours, don't get me wrong this breed is NOT for everyone, only the most experienced should consider this breed. I have been raised with 15 pitties by the time I was 3 and they were my bestfriends going up, I never had one attack me, or maul me (maybe with kisses) but NEVER to harm me. I can remember one time I was on a raised porch (15 ft) my mother was on the phone not paying much attention to me I went to crawl off the porch instead my then 115 pound red pit Momma sat on me while I screamed for her to get off. If it had not been for her I could have fell off the porch broke something or worse even been killed. There are some really bad people doing really horrible things to this breed and because of how "they" are treating them and teaching them to be mean and to become the "biggest dog on the block" and to fight til the death We are turning our backs on the APBT when all the breed is doing is trying to please us. Whether it's Dog Fighting, Therapy work, weight pulling, or just being a couch potatoe this breed loves to make us HAPPY. I wish the media would stop with the reports of "pit bull mauls" and start reporting of how a APBT saved someone, or how underground dog fighting is what's ruining the reputation of the breed.
BAN THE DEED NOT THE BREED!
APBT used to be our decorated war dogs/heros, Petey from the Little Rascals was the 1st American Pit Bull Terrier registered in films and was constantly around little children. (no mauls there to report). In the UK APBT's are called the Nanny-Dogs because they babysit the little ones. One more thing: More APBT have been awarded the Good Dog Certificate and temperment test than ANY other breed.
American Pitbull Terriers are lovers NOT fighters!!!! I have a total of five dogs four of them are full Blue- Blood American Pit Bull Terriers I also have a German Shepard/Dingo. All of my "kids" get along they do NOT fight they ALL like kids, cats, and people because they were ALL socialized at very young ages and still today. I walk two at a time with complete control over them. These dogs are my life and a huge part of my family. Please check out my new pics for 2011!
